Sadayasu Kato took over Ozu Castle in 1617. He won the battle of Osaka and was transferred from Yonago to Ozu.

Along with the roaring of trumpet shells,the march of his troops into the town was imposing and magnificent. For over 250 years the Kato family reigned over this place.The history of the present Ozu started here.
